Federal workers returned to their jobs Monday for the first time in 35 days, but they could face another government again in three weeks.

President Donald Trump tells the Wall Street Journal he doesn't think Congress will make a deal on the wall that he'd accept and says the chances are "less than 50-50."

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-New York) wants to make sure another shutdown doesn't leave federal workers without a paycheck again.

Schumer said, "I am supporting legislation that will make sure we never have another shutdown again -- that if the president and the Congress cannot come to agreement, the federal workers are still paid at the level they had always been paid instead of shutting off all the funds."

The president is still considering using executive powers to fund the wall.

The bill to fund the government runs out Feb. 15.
