Many Hudson Valley families are beating the heat at nearby pools and beaches on this Memorial Day.

While Playland beach remains closed, much of the crowds headed to Rye town beach where many families say time together is priceless.

“We wanted to stay local, we wanted to have a good time but also just spending a great time with family,” says Catherine Suqui, of White Plains.
