An EMT in the Hudson Valley has been fired after posting a racist rant on his Facebook page regarding protesters in the wake of the police custody death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
In the rant, which had numerous misspellings, Mobile Life Support Services EMT Robert Lukens called protesters “white trash” and used racial slurs.
The agency in New Windsor covers Orange, Rockland, Dutchess and Ulster counties. It  issued a statement about Lukens' firing:
"His behavior and statements are abhorrent. We do not condone his thoughts, feelings, words, beliefs or actions and will not tolerate bigotry or discrimination in any form."

So far, it's not clear if Lukens remains on duty at the West Clinton Fire Department. Their attorney told News12 that the matter is under investigation.
Lukens did not return News 12’s calls to comment.
