Hudson Valley college students are trying to tackle the rising cost of education.
These students, along with local leaders, gathered for a roundtable discussion at Pace University to discuss proposed federal laws that would affect college students' ability to pay for school.
Rep. Nina Lowey says she's particularly concerned with the PROSPER act.
She says the legislation would cut $15 billion of federal aid, raising the financial burden for students in need.
The congresswoman says the proposed legislation would eliminate loan forgiveness and lower the limit on what students and parents are allowed to borrow.
