Homeless outreach exec charged with passing fake money
The head of a Rockland County organization helping the area's homeless population is in trouble with the law.
Ya'el Williams, 52, is accused of using counterfeit money to buy a gift card at a Walgreens in Spring Valley earlier this month.
Williams is the executive director of Helping Hands, a not-for-profit organization that provides shelter for men and women 18 years and older during the cold season and a broad range of homeless services throughout the year.
Williams tells News 12 he doesn't know anything about any counterfeit money.
