Hikers who went missing in Ulster County park safely located

Two 20-year-olds, who were described as having special needs, were reported missing late Thursday afternoon in the Sam's Point Preserve portion of the park.

Two hikers who went missing in Minnewaska State Park in Ulster County were safely found Friday morning.
The two 20-year-olds, who were described as having special needs, were reported missing late Thursday afternoon in the Sam's Point Preserve portion of the park.
According to the state Department of Environmental Conservation, state police, state parks police, Ulster County and others were involved in the search.
The two were located off a trail in good health.
They were taken to Westchester Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment.
