The Town of Highlands, one of the worst areas damaged by recent storms, says bulk sanitation pickup will be suspended for the rest of August as storm recovery continues.

Some residents say they are disappointed after having bulk items sitting at the curb since last week.

The town asks residents with bulk items or questions to contact the sanitation department directly.

Highlands was among the areas hardest hit by flash flooding on July 9, damaging homes and infrastructure. Cleanup and repairs are still underway weeks later.
