In addition to snow, people living along the Hudson River in Piermont say they have also been plagued with tidal flooding.
A couple of times a year, an extreme high tide pushes the Hudson River into low-lying areas of the village.
As a result, streets like Paradise Avenue were closed for part of the day on Tuesday, forcing residents to find other ways around town.
Because of the recurring flooding, Piermont Police Chief Michael O'Shea has become somewhat of an expert on tides. His advice to people driving through town is to "turn around, don't drown."
O'Shea predicts there will be more flooding on Wednesday due to the high tide.
Wednesday morning's high tide in Piermont is expected around 11 a.m.
