Heavy winds bring cold temperatures, fallen trees
Bronx residents awoke Sunday to raging winds and colder-than-expected temperatures.
The heavy gusts overnight also caused a tree to split in half on Rosedale Avenue in Soundview. It has been causing drivers to swerve, as it takes up an entire lane on the street.
Residents who plan on watching the runners during the NYC Marathon are urged to bundle up to effectively combat the elements.
The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for the Bronx on Sunday that is expected to be in effect through 6 p.m.
