Summer is in full swing with sweltering temperatures in the 90s, and the weekend is only supposed to get hotter.
A heat advisory is already in effect for Saturday, and Sunday temperatures will feel like 105 degrees, News 12 meteorologists say.
News 12 was at the town pool in Nanuet where people were attempting to cool off. Lifeguards there said that it is one of the biggest town pools in the state, with a capacity of more than 3,000 people.
Rockland County Executive Ed Day said that cooling centers are open for those trying to stay out of the heat. He listed government buildings, the Palisades Mall and the Shops at Nanuet as good places to stay out of the sun.
A full list of cooling centers in Westchester and Hudson Valley can be found on the Numbers & Links page.
