A retired New York City police officer has been accidentally fatally shot by a retired corrections officer. Published reports say Thomas Marrinan. 57, was killed in Brooklyn Monday night. The officer heard someone threatening an 86-year-old man at a pizzeria. He responded, along with the retired corrections officer, and tried to subdue the suspect. The suspect was wounded in the arm.

Tuesday’s night storm causes downed trees, power outages and flooding across the region. One homeowner in Tappan looked out the window to see a car submerged in water.

Sources tell the Wall Street Journal that federal prosecutors subpoenaed material related to the Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s COVID-19 leadership book. The report says the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District last month requested contracts and preparations used to pitch the book to publishers from people. including state officials, who were involved in editing early drafts.
