A Nanuet man has been convicted of running a million-dollar Ponzi scheme. Ruless Pierre, owner of Pierre Consulting Group, was found guilty of security fraud, wire fraud and structuring charges. Prosecutors say he scammed over 100 investors out of more than $2 million. Officials say he promised a return, but spent the money to buy luxury vehicles and a fast food franchise.
A firefighter is recovering after being injured in a house fire in New Rochelle Thursday. Fire officials say the home has been undergoing renovations and was vacant at the time. Authorities are investigating the cause, but it does not appear to be suspicious.
Residents in an apartment building in Mount Vernon are growing impatient as the elevator has been broken for over a month. News 12 is told it was supposed to be fixed yesterday, but a custom part wasn't ready. This is creating an issue for elderly and disabled people who are having a hard time leaving their homes. The city’s building department says they have put the building’s owner on notice.
