Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
A minor is in the hospital after being struck by a car in Port Chester. Police say the person was hit Saturday at 7:30 p.m. while standing in the road on Parker Street. The driver remained at the scene and was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
A fire broke out at a North Rockland power plant Saturday in Haverstraw. Fire officials say the roof of the Bowline Power Plant caught fire due to heat from a steam pipe. They say over 75 firefighters, from several departments tackled the blaze. Fire Chief Daniel Coughlin says this fire could've been a lot worse.  Thankfully that wasn't the case, thanks to the quick actions of his crew. No injuries or power outages were reported.
The New Rochelle Police Department is getting a little greener. The department launched its first Hybrid Electric Police Patrol Ford Explorers. The goal is to switch the patrol fleet to hybrids over the next few years. This will save the city money in fuel costs and reduce the city's carbon footprint.
