Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
Police say a man attacked an officer on traffic duty at Lyon Park Tuesday night. He was later arrested for assault and resisting arrest. The man was released shortly after, and then allegedly attacked two more officers at a road construction site. He then attempted to get in their marked police car. Police believe the suspect is affiliated with a local gang. The officer in the second attack suffered injuries and will be out of work.
A Yonkers man is headed to prison for 12 years for an armed robbery in the city. Westchester District Attorney Mimi Rocah says Shawn Lucas, 37, was convicted of robbery, criminal possession of a weapon and grand larceny. The defendant was accused of following the victim as he entered his apartment building in 2021. He was carrying a loaded pellet gun and demanded the victim's wallet and cellphone. Lucas was tracked down shortly after thanks to surveillance video. The victim was able to identify the gun used in the robbery.
Three Monticello men are all facing charges for burglarizing a local business. Police say the suspects broke into the New York Deli and Grill on Liberty Street in the village. Surveillance video caught the men stealing thousands of dollars in merchandise and $500 cash.
