Hundreds of commuters had welcome news this morning as the Haverstraw-Ossining ferry is back in service.
Service was suspended in January because of icy conditions on the Hudson River. Ferry officials say the ice on the river was the worst they have seen in 28 years.
Rockland commuters have been having to take a bus to the Tarrytown Metro station adding up to 30 minutes to their travel.
Nearly 500 people travel on the ferry daily.
