Nearly a dozen people have been displaced after a fire ignited at a multi-family home in Haverstraw Friday morning.
The fire was sparked in a second-floor apartment at 17 Broadway during the early morning hours.
Two families were home at the time of the fire. One man was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Fire officials say crews had to work hard to keep the fire from spreading to a row of nearby buildings.
Volunteers are providing assistance to the 10 people who were displaced. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
