A local restaurant is opening its kitchen and serving free meals to cash-strapped families.
Union Restaurant and Bar Latino says it is offering the complimentary buffet because of the economic crisis that is reverberating in many households.
"I want to feed them, and I'm ready," says Chef David Martinez.
The buffet is expected to run from Monday to Wednesday. Food will be served between the hours of 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Restaurant owners hope to make the free buffet an annual event.
