A Rockland emergency medical service is issuing a warning to residents after what they say is an uptick in calls from patients with COVID-19 symptoms.
When it comes to coronavirus, Hatzolah of Rockland says it's been quiet for the past two months – until now.
The emergency medical service, which sees patients in Ramapo, Spring Valley, Haverstraw and Chestnut Ridge, says they've seen nearly a dozen cases with COVID-19 symptoms in the past two weeks, in patients as young as 10 years old.
The volunteer ambulance service sent an emergency community announcement to members Monday, reminding them to wear masks and other PPE on calls. The service is urging the public to remain vigilant.
A spokesman for Rockland County says it's unaware of any surge in cases, noting that for now, confirmed cases of COVID-19 and hospitalizations remain low.
Hatzolah representatives say from what they're seeing, it's a good time to remind residents that the pandemic isn't over.
