A group of Westchester elementary school students returned to the classroom Monday after learning that an anthrax-infected entertainer performed at their school two weeks ago. Vado Diamonde performed at Hillside Elementary in Hastings on February 10. His African beats and moves were supposed to leave about 100 local third-graders with a better sense of cultural diversity. Instead the students were left with concerns after learning the 44-year-old became infected with anthrax. Health officials say that there is no risk to any students, but some people are still concerned. To calm any fears, a meeting is being held at the school Monday so parents can ask a team of medical experts any questions they may have.
