Police in Harrison are on the lookout for a man who crashed an upscale party and made off with wallets and purses Wednesday night.
Police say the thief entered the Boxwood Lane home through the garage and went into the kitchen between 10 and 10:30 p.m. Catering staff and drivers were there at the time, though most of the people were in the back at the house. Police say anyone who may have seen the crook probably thought he was supposed to be there.
The man stole several purses containing wallets and credit cards before slipping out. Authorities say he got a 10-minute head start before anyone realized the items were missing.
Police say they are following several leads in the case.
