Harrison police say they arrested three suspects who stole high-end electronic equipment from three stores in Harrison, Rye and Mamaroneck Thursday.
Harrison Police Chief David Hall says Drini Kupi, Mirjan Idrizi and Blendi Dylgjar, all from Queens, are amateurs who were not part of an organized gang. He believes the suspects targeted commercial buildings where they could more easily pry open doors without being detected.
"These buildings are not alarmed," Hall says. "They go in, grab laptops and whatever they can get."
According to Hall, the suspects were caught red handed behind an office building on Halsted Avenue in Harrison. Detectives seized tens of thousands of dollars worth of stolen televisions, laptops and cellular phones in the back of a van with Connecticut plates.
"We'll get search warrants for their residences and find out if they have any other stolen property, and proceed from there,? Hall says.
Kupi, Idrizi and Dylgjar are being held at the Westchester County Jail without bail.
