Gunfire rocks Yonkers for second night
For the second time in as many nights, gunfire has broken the quiet of a Yonkers night.
Police say shots were fired on Hamilton Avenue Tuesday evening, not far from where two men were shot just the day before.
Sources tell News 12 a man came out of one of the buildings and opened fire, but no one was hit.
Shell casings were recovered, but the shooter escaped.
Less than 24 hours earlier, two men were shot multiple times on nearby St. Casimir Avenue. Police say the two, who are expected to survive, were likely targeted. Investigators are also looking for the gunman in that shooting.
Two nights in a row of violence have people living in the area on edge. "I just want the kids to have a safe environment; it's worse when you fear for things and you can't go and have fun," says Jessica Henry, of Yonkers.
