Mount Vernon police officials on Tuesday demonstrated a new system designed to pinpoint gunfire instantly.
"Bottom line, ladies and gentlemen, it's going to save lives in Westchester County," says Police Commissioner David Chong about the ShotSpotter system.
About 70 censors have been placed around Mount Vernon at a cost of $1.5 million that was paid for by county funds.
