Greenburgh students accused in attack of 8th-grader
Three Woodlands High School students are accused of viciously attacking an eighth-grader at school.
According to police, Timothy Smith and Jean-Claude Chin, both 16, and a 15-year-old boy were arrested for beating a 14-year-old boy and breaking his leg. Police are still searching for a fourth student in connection to the attack. Police say the victim apparently shoved a girl and the attack was revenge for that incident.
Police say Smith has gang ties and had a prior charge for an assault at the school. Both Smith and Chin were arraigned Friday in Greenburgh. The 15-year-old is charged as a juvenile. Bail for Smith was set at $10,000 due to the prior charge. The teens are ordered to stay away from the school and the victim.
