Governor Spitzer works to win support in Westchester for new budget plan
Governor Eliot Spitzer (D-NY) brought his "budget home" to Mamaroneck Monday in an effort to gain support for his new budget proposal.
The governor has had some resistance from lawmakers and special interest groups since introducing his spending plan. Spitzer says his proposal is fundamentally different because it focuses on the middle class. He also warned fellow Democrats that his efforts to reform Albany and the budget process should not face political roadblocks.
Spitzer's budget push also included handing out small cards with the statement New York's Turning Point printed on them. The back of the card details his plan for cutting taxes and increasing school funding.
