Governor George Pataki (R-NY) visited the Hudson Valley Hospital Center Friday to say thanks after his emergency appendectomy.

Pataki says he is proud of the quality of health care he received under emergency circumstances at the hospital. The governor was rushed to the hospital on February 16 after his appendix burst. He later developed an intestinal blockage and underwent another surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan. Pataki says the complication had nothing to do with the surgery at the Hudson Valley Hospital Center.

Pataki, who lives in Garrison, went back to work in Albany on March 21. The governor was once on the board of directors at the hospital and his son was born there.
