GOP candidate for governor makes racism claims
The Republican candidate for governor in New York is accusing his opponent and the city's public advocate of making racist comments.
Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino publicly condemned the alleged remarks during a press conference in the Bronx this past weekend.
According to published reports, Public Advocate Letitia James accused Astorino of being anti-choice, anti-LGBT and anti-progress. She and Gov. Andrew Cuomo also allegedly called out Astorino for fighting a federal desegregation agreement in Westchester County.
Astorino was joined by the group "Latinos Con Astorino," and says he remains confident in the upcoming Nov. 4 election.
New 12 reached out to both Cuomo and James for comment, but have not yet heard back.
