Weddings and holiday parties are expected to resume as normal at the historic Glen Island Harbour Club following a kitchen fire Tuesday.
?None of the public areas were affected [by the fire],? says Rocco Agostino, the hall?s general manager. ?We are fortunate enough to have two kitchens, two fully working kitchens, and only one of these was affected by the fire last night.?
The Glen Island Harbour Club is normally very busy during this season, with holiday parties and weddings scheduled. Agostino says everyone is breathing a sigh of relief that the fire didn?t inflict more damage.
?The timing of it was exceptional, the New Rochelle Fire Department did a fantastic job confining it to just a small area inside the kitchen,? he says. ?I imagine if it went on for any length of time it could have been much worse.?
