The Gateway Counseling Center held a community street festival to raise awareness about developmental disabilities.
The Saturday celebration in Wakefield provided dancing, face painting and food from local vendors.
Gateway helps people of all ages with developmental disorders or mental illness function by catering to their specific needs, using methods such as art, computers, math classes and field trips.
Gateway's executive director says the street fair was just one of many ways to raise awareness with families and the community.
