Family and friends said their final goodbyes Friday to a Yonkers father of four who was killed in a crash on the Sprain Brook Parkway New Year?s Eve.
Mourners who gathered at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in White Plains remembered Dennis Brown as a good friend who made people laugh. They say he just turned 50 in November.
?It was like he had no bones. He would just wiggle like a worm and dance all around,? says Brown?s cousin, Paulette Francis. ?He was such a fun-loving person.?
On the night of the accident, Brown?s friend, Courtney Welch, was driving him home. At around 8 p.m., Welch's car struck a guardrail and landed in a ditch off the Sprain Brook Parkway in Greenburgh, killing both men. Welch?s 9-year-old daughter, who was in the back seat of the car at the time of the crash, survived.
Investigators say it appears the deadly accident happened because the vehicle hit a patch of black ice on the road and swerved out of control.
Brown is survived by his four children and two grandchildren.
