Fundraiser held for Mike Nolan, slain baseball prospect from Yonkers
Just four months after a 23-year-old Yonkers baseball prospect was gunned down, his family is hoping to turn the tragedy into something that will help others.
On Sunday, hundreds packed a fundraiser at Rory Dolan's Bar in honor of Mike Nolan.
Nolan was gunned down in a parking lot across from the Cross County Mall in September, not long after he was drafted by the Oakland A's,
The victim's brother and a friend organized the fundraiser to create a college scholarship for a student athlete from Nolan's alma mater, Saunders High School.
Part of the fundraiser included signed autographed memorabilia from New York sports teams, including the Giants, Knicks, Mets and Rangers.
Nolan's killer remains on the loose.
