Fuel spills into New Rochelle marina from boat
Responders spent Sunday cleaning up gallons of fuel that spilled from a sinking boat in New Rochelle.
The fire department used special absorbing pads to soak up gasoline at the private Polychron Marina. Plastic tubes were used to contain the spill, which occurred sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning.
Officials believe the boat was neglected, leading to the spill. Police say the boat's registration is expired and they can't identify the owner or the exact cause of the spill.
