Friends, family remember contractors killed in explosion
Family and friends gathered to say their goodbyes to two contractors who were killed when an oil tank exploded in Hastings-on-Hudson last week.
Segundo Mora, 50, and Luis Jacho, 52, both of Ossining, died Thursday morning in a backyard explosion on Hillside Avenue.
A funeral service was held for both men, who were best friends and lived together, at Saint Ann's Church in Ossining.
The caskets were escorted to the airport, where they will be flown to and buried in their native country of Ecuador.
Investigators say that while the investigation into the blast is ongoing, it appears the explosion was caused by a buildup of vapors in the tank, which had been illegally filled with gasoline.
Mora is survived by his wife and two daughters in the U.S. Jacho has a brother and extended family here in the states.
