Friends, family participate in 5K in honor of Matthew Wallace, teen fatally struck by Metro-North train
Family and friends participated in a fundraiser in Yonkers today to honor the life of a student who was fatally struck by a train last year.
Matthew Wallace, a football and lacrosse player at Mount Saint Michael Academy in the Bronx, died last September after being fatally struck by a Metro-North train at the Bronx's Wakefield station.
A group of parents started a foundation in Matthew's name, and on Sunday they came together for a 5K walk and fundraiser.
Matthew's parents say they still want answers about the night their son died. Metro-North has called it an accident, but there were no security cameras in the area, and the details remain unclear.
