Friends and family members of missing Brooklyn resident Laura Garza held a vigil Sunday outside the Wallkill apartment of the man suspected in her disappearance.
Laura Garza has been missing since Dec. 3, but her family refuses to give up hope. The 25-year-old was last seen leaving Marquee nightclub in Manhattan with Michael Mele, a sex offender who is currently behind bars for violating probation.
Police have scrutinized Mele's Wallkill apartment and say it was sanitized with bleach and a section of carpet was missing. His car was also searched.
In recent weeks, police have scoured wooded areas in Orange and Sullivan counties. They've also combed the waters of Echo Lake.
The organization that spearheaded Sunday's vigil is called Emergency Rights, Inc. Another vigil will be held on Jan. 3 outside of the Marquee nightclub.
