Four people have been arrested in connection with the abduction of a 13-year-old girl in Rockland County.

Ramapo police say Mara Downes was kidnapped by masked assailants and forced screaming into the trunk of a car just after she got off the school bus Monday. She was still locked in the trunk and alone in the car when it was found around 6:20 p.m. in Spring Valley, about a mile from the abduction scene.

An Amber Alert had been issued for the car, a stolen 1997 Toyota Camry, and someone who heard the description called police.

Ramapo police say the first three suspects werecaptured Monday night, questioned and charged Tuesdaymorning. The fourth suspect was arrested Tuesday.
