Former State Sen. Efrain Gonzalez is facing prison after he pled guilty Friday to stealing thousands of dollars from local charitable groups.
Gonzalez was charged with fraud in the summer of 2006 after prosecutors said he took more than $400,000 from charity and used it to finance his daughter's college education and invest in his cigar company.
Gonzalez remains out on bail, and is set to be sentenced Aug. 7. Prosecutors say he could face between seven and nine years in prison.
