Former Peekskill Mayor Frances Gibbs dies at 93

Gibbs was the first woman elected as mayor of the city of Peekskill.

The first woman elected as mayor of the city of Peekskill has died.
Frances Gibbs passed away last week at the age of 93.
She served three terms as mayor from 1994 to 1999.
Her accomplishments included development and expansion of the Artist’s District, creation of the Charles Point Pier Park, and establishing the Peekskill Youth Bureau.
She will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
