A line of thunderstorms moved across the region Wednesday evening following the hot weather the area has experienced the past few days.

Evening storms bring threat of downpours, flash flooding
This evening's storms are bringing the threat of flash flooding.
Storms may move through the area until 2 a.m. News 12 meteorologists say these storms will likely feature more torrential downpours that can cause flash flooding.  Some spots could get over 2 inches of rain in a short period of time.
Some storms may have heavy rain, gusty winds and possible hail.
A heat advisory was issued through 8 p.m. A severe thunderstorm watch was issued through 10 p.m.
Friday will be partly sunny with temperatures around 88 degrees.

Quarter-size hail may fall in some areas, and while small tornadoes can’t be ruled out, they are unlikely.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday are expected to be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 80s and low 90s.
