Food Bank of Westchester honors 'Hunger Heroes'

The Food Bank for Westchester held its 11th annual Hunger Heroes award breakfast Thursday at the Tappan Hill Mansion in Tarrytown. The event recognizes local organizations for helping those in need.

Food Bank of Westchester honors 'Hunger Heroes'
The Food Bank for Westchester held its 11th annual Hunger Heroes award breakfast Thursday at the Tappan Hill Mansion in Tarrytown.
The event recognizes local organizations for helping those in need.
The Larchmont-Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force Food Pantry was one of the groups that received an award. Their volunteer organization distributes food to nearly 400 families.
News 12 News Director Janine Rose was the emcee for the award ceremony. More than 200 people attended the event.
According to the Food Bank for Westchester, approximately 200,000 people in the county are at risk of hunger or facing food insecurity.
