Residents say they are concerned about flyers posted around Mount Vernon that are seeking teens to “cheer” a man on while he exercises.
The flyer says a man named Wilbert is looking for a teen or young adult to cheer him on while he exercises in his home.
Flyers have been seen on Second Street near Fourth and Fifth avenues, and near Mount Vernon High School.
Some neighbors say they have taken the flyer down.
Dwight Gilzene, a father of two teens, says he hopes young people won’t be vulnerable enough to respond. He says he called the number on the flyer but did not get a response.
"Of course it bothers me, I would love to cheer his behind on and Bang! Zoom! To the moon,” he says.
