With the wedding of England's Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle less than 24 hours away, people on this side of the Atlantic are finding their own ways to celebrate.
At Florrie Kaye's Tea Room in Carmel, tea sippers are getting the royal treatment with festive hats, fresh-baked scones and the famous Royal Wedding Tea.
Outside, there's an old fashioned British telephone booth and the Union Jack flag.
Inside, customers were learning the proper way to pour English tea. (Brew it for three minutes, then pour to the top of the cup.)
And celebrants plan to return Saturday for a four-course luncheon modeled after the royal wedding menu.
"We try to keep the menu authentic," says head chef Michele Cohane, who even baked a wedding cake.
Cohane is from South Africa, which used to be a British colony.
