The severe weather that swept across Westchester resulted in flooding on many roads and a tough commute Friday morning.
Flooding began early, closing parts of the Bronx River Parkway, followed by closures on the Hutchinson River Parkway and Saw Mill River Parkway, where drivers were diverted off the road at exit 29.
In Orange and Rockland counties, parts of Route 9W and the Palisades Parkway were also shut due to flooding and downed trees.
Many drivers were frustrated by the delays and diversions, which left motorists scrambling to find an alternative route to their destinations using maps and GPS systems.
