Hanna severely damaged the Westchester and Hudson Valley region Saturday, as it left several stores underwater and caused major roadways to close.

Hanna may have scared residents in a Mamaroneck neighborhood, but its waters receded without flooding any homes, much to the relief of residents.

?We were spared with the storm, so I?m grateful for that,? says Gloria Smith.

Other Mamaroneck residents prepared for the worst. Bill Andrews stocked up on sand bags and pumps, but he gladly reports that he didn?t get a drop of water.

Another flood-prone area, the Bronxville elementary and high schools, survived without any flood damage, despite a scare from Hanna. Both schools will be open on Monday.

With Hanna to the north now, people are keeping an eye on the next big storm mixing in the Caribbean ? Hurricane Ike.
