Fitness Face-off: Opus Arise Beacon Fitness Program

Opus Arise Beacon Fitness Program in Brownsville has come in at number 3 in News 12's Fitness Face-off Challenge.
Brooklyn residents are kicking their way to fit bodies with the Opus Arise Beacon Fitness Program.
The program offers classes twice a week from kickboxing to aerobics to body bootcamp.
Participants say the camaraderie and upbeat feel of the class keeps them coming back for more.
"Different ages, different sizes, we all work together to encourage each other to work hard because we all going at the same common goal. Basically, to be healthy," says participant Keisha Craigg.
The fitness program, run by Rodney Harris, is in its second year. Harris, who grew up in Brownsville, says he's using his love for training to give back to his own community.
"I'm very passionate about what I do, and I put that out to my class, you know, and they see it. They see the passion that I have, the empathy and care that I have for each and every one of them," says Harris.
The classes are free and are held after business hours, allowing as many people as possible to participate.
