Firefighters: Over 1,000 gallons of water needed to douse car fire in Somers

Officials say it happened at a parking lot on Route 6.

Firefighters say over 1,000 gallons of water was needed to put out a car fire in Somers on Thursday.
They say they we're responding to downed burning wires on Route 202 before they were called to the scene of fire in a parking lot on Route 6.
The cause of fire was not immediately known as of Thursday evening.
