Firefighters from several companies spent Wednesday afternoon battling a blaze that broke out on the property of financeer Leon Black's multimillion dollar mansion in Bedford Hills.
Fire officials say they responded to the call from the property?s manager at around 1 p.m. after the man reported seeing smoke coming from the mansion.
By the time firefighters arrived at the scene, the flames had already engulfed an indoor tennis court and a pool house. Previous reports that a horse stable on the property burned to the ground had proven to be false. No one was hurt in the fire.
Bedford Fire Chief Halpin says the flames were so intense he called for reinforcement.
Officials say an investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the fire.
