Firefighters battled flames at the Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Ossining overnight.

Fire officials say they got a call around 11 p.m. about a fire in a building out on the shooting range. The Ossining Fire Department was called in and the fire was out in about 45 minutes.

The area is at the back of the prison property along the Hudson River, so no inmates had to be evacuated. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.

Sing Sing Correctional Facility is a maximum security prison with about 1,700 prisoners.
