Two people are briefly without a home in New Rochelle after a car crashed into their apartment building, according to fire officials.
It happened in the 600 block of Pelham Road shortly after noon Tuesday.
Fire crews say a tenant of the apartment was pulling out of a parking spot when they crashed into the building. They say the person was not seriously hurt.
Officials say there was a small dog inside the apartment that was hit, but it is OK.
Some interior damage is inside the bottom floor apartment.
"I definitely was stunned because I've never seen a car or vehicle go into a building before, I've only seen it in movies but never seen it in person," said Louis, the building's superintendent.
Boarding has been put up near the damage as city engineers evaluate the structural integrity.
The Red Cross is helping the people who have been displaced.
