A fast-moving fire ripped through a group home for disabled adults in Putnam County overnight, killing a 52-year-old woman after midnight.
State and county investigators are probing the cause of the fire, which they say started on the second floor of the building at 345 Route 301 in Philipstown.
Officials say six residents were inside the building when the fire sparked. Five of them and two staff members made it out safely.
Officials from the state Office for People with Developmental Disabilities also arrived at the scene.
